Dr. Aronowitz is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon in Bangor, Maine.  She specializes in the arthroscopic and open treatment of shoulder and elbow conditions.  She is particularly interested in shoulder replacement surgery, reverse shoulder replacement surgery, and arthroscopic techniques including rotator cuff repairs. Dr. Aronowitz is committed to providing the highest quality patient care through evidence-based medicine and cutting-edge techniques.

Dr. Aronowitz obtained her undergraduate degree from Wellesley College where she also played varsity basketball.  She earned her medical doctorate from the University of Florida and was awarded the William F. Enneking Teaching Award by the Department of Orthopaedics.  She completed her orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Miami where she developed an interest in conditions of the shoulder and elbow.  She was then awarded a one-year fellowship in shoulder and elbow surgery at the world-renowned Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota under the direction of leading experts in the field.  She has presented her research at national meetings and is published in several peer-reviewed journals.  She has also been a faculty instructor at national courses on shoulder arthroplasty and arthroscopy.

Philosophy

Dr. Aronowitz completed a specialized fellowship at the world-renowned Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.  She adheres to William J. Mayo's philosophy:

"The best interest of the patient is the only interest to be considered."

She believes in a patient-centered approach and educating her patients in all treatment options including both non-surgical and operative measures.  Her goal is to provide the best treatment possible to eliminate pain and restore function.
